Tips for 'beginners'

  • Base Fitness
    Ride regularly

     
  • Start on very short trips     
  • Increase distance/duration

  • When you can do these comfortably you're ready for club runs

  • Follow the rules of the road
  • Don't stop suddenly

  • Keep to the left
  • Heed vocal warnings:

  • Don't overtake the runs leader
  • 'Pot Hole'
  •  
  • Follow the rider in front – but don't overlap
  • 'Car up' – approaching from behind
  •  
  • Not more than two abreast
  • 'Car down' – approaching from the front
  •  
  • 'Single out' when necessary
